The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) hosts Washington, D.C.-based Academic Internship Programs for undergraduate students each summer.

TFAS programs include academic credit from George Mason University, an internship and furnished housing in the heart of Washington, D.C. Students participate in a variety of exclusive guest lectures, site briefings as well as professional development and networking events.

TFAS students leave Washington with 250+ hours of professional experience, an expanded network of contacts, and a greater understanding of the variety of career opportunities.

Ready to apply?

Wofford College students should complete the general TFAS application by
November 15. The Washington Fellows program at Wofford is a competitive application process which selects 10 students every summer to participate in partnership with TFAS.

The selection committee will review applications and notify applicants by December 1. Accepted students are required to participate in a one-credit course during the spring semester to prepare for their summer internships.
